Kingston Main Street Upgrade & Foreshore Development

In 2016/17, Council engaged Jensen's Planning and Design to develop, in consultation with the community, a strategy and concept plans for the upgrade of Kingston’s Main Streets.  Council adopted the Main Street Stimulus Strategy in October 2016 which has a clear vision of designing streets to create interesting, authentic and vibrant places for people of all ages, within a distinctive coastal streetscapes.

In January 2018 council engaged the services of Greenhill Engineering to commence the design phase of the main street stimulus project and to develop detailed designs for an adventure play space on a section of Kingston’s foreshore.  Council met with Greenhill on Thursday 28th June to review initial detailed designs and is now ready to share draft designs with the community.

A public information session will be held on Friday 20th July 2018 from 5:30pm at the Council Chamber.  This is an opportunity for businesses and community members to view the draft detailed designs and to influence the final plan. Copies of the designs will be made available from the council office or via the links below.  The success of this project will rely on suggestion/feedback from all corners of our community.  Get involved and get excited.
